Doctor Ray Johnson purchased Arizona Dermatology Group in April 2005 after working for the existing practice for several years. He is a board certified dermatologist since December 1999. Dr. Johnson has a broad range of interests from clinical dermatology, to cosmetic dermatology with a specialized gift and interest in MOHS micrographic surgery.
Dr. Johnson began studying for his medical career at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and received his medical degree in 1995. He then completed his internship at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital before completing his residency and fellowship at Yale University in 1999. After spending a year on staff at Yale University, Dr. Johnson relocated to Prescott, Arizona where he began working for Prescott Dermatology. Doctor Johnson remained on staff with Prescott Dermatology for many years while also extending his services to dermatology practices in different areas such as New Zealand, New York and Connecticut .
After many years of experience, Dr. Johnson decided it was time to dedicate himself to one practice which is now Arizona Dermatology Group which consists of four convenient office locations. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Mohs Surgery.
Shelly is a native of upstate New York, relocating to Prescott in 2018. She acquired her Associated Degree from St. Josephs Hospital School of Nursing located in Syracuse NY and Bachelor's degree from Keuka College in NY. Shelly worked as a Registered Nurse for 2 years in Oncology before pursuing her passion for 6+ years as an ICU/Rapid Response nurse at SUNY Upstate Medical University in NY. She obtained her Masters Degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Upon completion of her degree as a Nurse Practitioner, she pursued her career in dermatology and worked for 5 years at a Dermatology office in Upstate NY before relocating to Prescott. She performs skin cancer screenings, diagnoses/treats many general dermatologic conditions including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, and many others. She specializes in surgical procedures including removal of skin cancers, abnormal moles, and precancerous lesions. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and now hold a License in the state of Arizona.
